With the economy in the tank, you can update your work wardrobe and give to a good cause at the same time. Career Closet is a Bay Area organization that supports women going back to work, who need financial assistance getting themselves ready to work. That might include a new wardrobe, haircut, a job search plan and a boost of confidence.
While most of the clothes at Career Closet are donated by women like us, they are also in need of financial donations and in-kind donations (like hair cutting certificates) as well as volunteers. One way they raise money is through their Style Cupboard, where they sell some of the donated clothing, which includes top designers and vintage as well as accessories.
In 2007 they helped 1,300 women with the transition.
