Coming Up: Family Night Hike and Campfire

This Saturday night, go for an evening hike on the coast. Learn about rainbow sands, how rocks are formed and about marine animals living near the shoreline. Then it's time for a campfire with songs and stories. S'mores are provided.

Only families with children can attend. Registration closes Friday afternoon.

Coming Up: Marin Headlands Family Hike

This weekend, NatureBridge is hosting “Animal Families of the Headlands,” an event for Bay Area families to spend the afternoon outdoors together, discovering the unique characteristics of animals who call the Headlands home. 


NatureBridge is a nonprofit organization that partners with the National Parks Service to bring kids outdoors, helping kids get into nature, to instill that sense of awe and appreciation for the environment that is so easily lost in the “digital age.” They have student and family programming in four locations, including in the Marin Headlands. NatureBridge works with schools across the Bay Area and many of their programs serve diverse or low-income students.



If you can't make this, but are still interested, NatureBridge is also hosting a series of “Golden Gate Play Dates” in October (11 and 25) and November 8th, a 2 hour, hands-on program that will help guide your child’s natural curiosity in outdoor adventures. It’s best suited for children ages 3-5. In fact, you can see a slew of similar family programs on NatureBridge’s website, too. The other programs look fabulous, including an arts fall open house, night hike and campfire and more.
