2016 Halloween Family-Friendly Events in the Bay Area

In case you weren't aware, Halloween is coming up! I wanted to add some more to this post but realize that I'm running out of time. So I'll add more as it comes in, but I wanted to make sure none of these events passed!

Here are some Halloween 2016 events for families in the Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO
What: Stern Grove's Scaregrove
When: Friday, October 28 from 3-9
What: Haunted house, hay rides, arts and crafts, inflatables, carnival rides
Cost: $8/person - all inclusive (free ages 2 and under)
Who: the whole family

What: ZOOtoberFest and Boo at the Zoo
When: ZOOtoberFest is every weekend in October, from 10-5. Boo at the Zoo is October 29-30 from 11-4
What: ZOOtoberFest: hay maze, bounce house, Zoo Brew Haus (beer, brats and polka)
Boo at the Zoo: trick or treating, Halloween crafts, pumpkin stomp and chomp, haunted nature trail, creepy crawly insects, costume parade
Cost: included with admission
Who:  the whole family

EAST BAY

What: Creepy Halloween at Lawrence Hall of Science
When: October 29-30, 10-5
What: Pumpkin catapults, creepy critters, pumpkin lifts
Cost: free with admission

What: Boo, Bark, Brews and Bites
When: Friday, October 28 - 6 p.m. (Doggie Walk-In Movie, Best in Show)
Saturday, October 29, 11-4 (Book, Bark, Brews and Bites)
What: This animal friendly festive event features paw painting for pups, pets pampering, a pet psychic, pooch photo booths, bobbing for bones, people and pooch crafts, canine costume contest, pumpkin decorating, doggy treats and pet tricks
Where: Jack London Square
Cost: free
Who: the whole family plus Fido

What: Bay Street Boo Bash
When: Sunday, October 30, 11-2 (Halloween festivities), 1:00 (children's costume parade and dog costume parade)
What: pumpkin decorating, face painting, treats, haunted carriage rides, games, raffles, dance performances, free pumpkin patch, magic shows, costume parade,
Where: Bay Street, Center Plaza, Emeryville
Cost: free
Who: entire family

What: Not too spooky Halloween (they have a lot of other Halloween activities)
When: Sunday, October 30, 9:30-4:30
What: Come in costume, while Habitot is transformed into a Halloween playground. Minigolf in the garden graveyard, paint mini pumpkins, fly paper ghosts.
Where: Habitot in Berkeley
Cost: free with admission
Who: infants, toddlers, preschoolers


PENINSULA
What: Halloween Hangar Haunt
When: Saturday, October 29 5-6:30 p.m., and Saturday, October 31 10-noon
What: Come in costume. Creepy carnival games, crafts, meet the flying witch, watch the helicopter drop the pumpkin
Where: Hiller Aviation Museum
Cost: Free with admission (4 and under are free)


SOUTH BAY
What: Pumpkin Splash
When: October 15-31, 11-5 (weekends); 10-5 (weekdays)
What: not really a Halloween event, more of a fall event; this is a unique pumpkin patch with treats and nice views; crafts, bounce house, pumpkin painting, pumpkin carving, cookie decorating on weekends.
Where: Shoreline Lake in Mountain View
Cost: $10/kids; various packages to include pumpkin, boat ride, drinks;
