As you might know, I blog for Osyter Locals on fun, family-friendly things to do in San Francisco (posts appear on Frisco Kids also). Until now, the site has only had hotel reviews and really fabulous "photo fake-outs" where they show hotel promo photos and then their own shots - what it REALLY looks like. As for hotel reviews, they're all paid for by Oyster - with no comped rooms - and with the reviewers taking tons of photos which appear on the review. The Locals site adds local color - what to do when you're actually there (that's where I come in).
Oyster.com now is also booking hotel rooms, and they're offering a special promotion to encourage you to sign up. If you sign up (which takes about 3 seconds - I just did it), they'll give you a $50 Visa gift card after you book (and complete) a hotel stay costing $300 or more. If you're planning any summer holidays, Thanksgiving, fall break or December holiday trips, it's worth checking out. They feature hotels daily that are 40% off list price. And you can search by "kid-friendly" hotels. You can save hotels you're looking at on your acccount, and sign up for rate alerts, so you'll know when a hotel you're watching goes on sale.
If you want to sign up, you can go to Oyster.com or use my link to sign up (disclosure: I'll get a referral credit if you sign up using my link and then book a $300 hotel stay). But that's not the reason I'm posting. I really enjoy blogging for Oyster and I like the folks there. And I really like the reviews.
