Deal of the Day: $5 for Tech Museum San Jose entrance

We love the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. I've written about them for Family Fun magazine and Oyster Locals.

If you haven't been before, or haven't been lately, take advantage of the great deal Groupon is offering today. For $5, you'll get entrance into the museum plus admission to an educational IMAX movie. Current movies are Arabia, Under the Sea, Space Station, Blue Planet and Hubble.

We love the Tech because of the fun, hands-on exhibits that get the kids exited, while still getting the parents intrigued.  The place is huge - 132,000 square feet (and has an awesome cafe and gift shop too). If you go on weekends, you can get free parking downtown in one of the parking garages. Go on the weekday, and they'll validate parking for two hours. There are plenty of restaurants downtown too, plus a park across the street so the kids can run around.

To get this deal, click this Groupon link. It's good today only! The deal is posted on the San Jose page. You'll probably pull up the San Francisco page initially. Go to the top, where it says "visit more cities" and click on that. Then find San Jose and click on that. It will be on the San Jose page until late tonight.

Small print: you need to use the coupons by 10/20/10. It's not good for special exhibitions, and it's not good for a full feature-length IMAX film. Groupon is a Frisco Kids affiliate, which means if you're new to Groupon and you purchase the coupon using my link, Frisco Kids gets a small credit toward a future Groupon purchase. You don't have to use my link, but it costs you nothing to do so. And it helps me track what items are of interest to my readers.

  1. I signed on to groupon and it posts today's deal as "SMUIN Ballet"...not the SJ Tech museum.
    Help, please?

  2. Sorry for not making it more clear -the post is now corrected. It's on the San Jose page - you should go to "visit more cities" at the top, then click on San Jose. It will be on that page until late tonight.
