I've walked by the Wax Museum at Fisherman's Wharf many times but never went in. Why? It's touristy and expensive. But this Groupon deal today has me rethinking. This weekend you can get a voucher for half off adults tickets - you'd pay $7 instead of $14. May be worth it for a rainy day or a day you have family/friends visiting from out of town. Or a cheap day trip with your kid under six - they get in free.
Their claim to fame - it's one of the largest wax museums in the world, with 250 wax sculptures. A few of those are Barack Obama, Brad Pitt and Jesus (though someone would consider those last two one and the same). They also have King Tut, Martha Stewart, Oscar (the Academy Awards statue), Michael Jackson and Lance Armstrong. Plus Elvis and the Titanic duo - Kate and Leo.
To buy the deal, good today only, click on this Groupon link. It's listed on the San Francisco page. If the link puts on another city's page, just go to the top and click on Visit More Cities - and then click on San Francisco.
The small print: You can buy six per person, but only for adults age 18 and over. Kids' tickets you'd purchase there at the normal price ($7 for kids age 6-11, and $10 for kids age 12-17, and free under age six). Tickets expire 9/10/10. The deal is good through Sunday night.
Groupon is a Frisco Kids affiliate, which means if you're new to Groupon and purchase using my link, I'll get a small credit towards a future Groupon purchase. I only post things I think my readers will enjoy.
