What are your favorite mom social networking sites?

I used to be active in several local mom's groups. And one of them, my El Camino Hospital baby group (from when Dori was 5 weeks old) still gets together...less for park dates and more for potluck dinners, camping trips and girls-gone-wild weekends.

But in the age of Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace, social networking is more important than ever, so I joined CityMommy, a San Francisco Bay Area site with message boards, directories, neighborhood groups, events and more (it's free to join). I check in daily for gossip (like Ben and Jen had a girl!), for event info, debates and news affecting families.

I know they have some competition, like Bay Area Mama, Mamasource, Moms Like Me.

What groups do you belong to? What do you love about them?

Citymommy is great because unlike the others it is locally run by a mom! The ads don't overwhelm you time on the site and it is a one stop shop for all things bay area mom!!

  3. CityMommy is a must for any mom looking to be in the know....plus there are locations nationwide so if you are travelling-you can post on the other sites for help and resources.
    Love it!

  4. I love that CityMommy is local. It makes such a difference whenever I need real advice about a school, pediatrician or local vendors. It's a lifesaver!

  5. I have to agree with most the moms posting...CityMommy it's local and run by a mom. I love that you can post pictures, leave reviews for favorite places and join groups. I also love their new blog on their main site. It always has great articles.
